Congratulations Scott and Lucy, February 2010

It's A Girl!!!

Scott Goddard, Director of Live-N-Learn, and his wife Lucy have recently welcomed the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, and their first child, Holly. She was born Sunday 31st of January 2010 and is of course, perfect! Congratulations, everyone wishes you all the happiness in the world and we really couldn't be happier for you both!

On top of now spending all their time feeding, changing and gazing at Holly, Scott has over 40 workshops with schools over the next few months, and they are also moving home... as if having a brand new baby was not enough!

New Presenter, January 2010

Live-N-Learn welcome yet another new, outstanding individual into our team of high quality presenters. Due to the high demand for our workshops, we have increased our capacity yet again.

We welcome Gordon Campbell, who having already delivered his first training sessions, has received phenomenal praise from every single school he has worked with. Gordon is looking forward to working closely with the hundreds of schools we will be supporting in February and March 2010.

Creating a School of Ambition - Gracemount High School, December 2009

Live-N-Learn were delighted to be asked to be part of a 3 year project with Gracemount High School in Edinburgh to develop leadership, resilience and a growth mindset in the school.

Since 2006 we have delivered our series of tailored programmes each year to S3 S4 S5 & S6 students twice a year, every year to develop a sustainable programme that has impact. The Centre for Confidence, based in Glasgow and led by Dr. Carol Craig, carried out research on the mindset of students before and after Live-N-Learn's intervention. The results demonstrated a visible shift in attitude.

Jim Cassidy, who is now the new Head Teacher at Beeslack Community High School, and organised the events at Gracemount, commented

"One of the many strengths of the Live-N-Learn programme is that their work is based on research, it's not about building self esteem, it's about building self efficacy, which is a very different issue. Whilst making young people feel positive about themselves, the Live-N-Learn team also send out the strong practical message that hard work and effort are required to achieve success."

Leadership Event on the Orkney Islands, November 2009

Scott Goddard has recently returned from Orkney after running a 2 day event aimed at developing Leadership in young people throughout all the schools in the area. Live-N-Learn worked with a group of the current 6th Year students who are now going back to their schools to take action and responsibility in their communities. This is the second year Live-N-Learn has run this very popular and successful event.

One student commented "I enjoyed the variety of the leadership course - from being funny to picking up a serious message. It made me realise all the things I want to do and how I can have a positive impact on other younger people in my community."

New Presenter, October 2009

With a rapid growth in the number of schools choosing to use Live-N-Learn in the past 12 months we have been busy scouring the country to find some new course presenters to deliver our innovative and inspiring courses.

Carly Henderson has joined the team over the summer and is already loving her time at Live-N-Learn. She is looking forward to meeting your students over the coming months.

Carly's Recent Feedback

"I would just like to say a massive thank you to Carly for the wonderful job she did presenting the workshop. I would highly recommend your company and Carly in particular, she was down to earth and understood where the students were coming from. The material was excellent and created a lot of discussion, some of the feedback has been really interesting and very insightful."
